About Us

Seeing Cyclone Debbie on the news this week has brought back memories of watching the news after Cyclone Yasi. Seeing all the displaced pets or pets taken from the arms of their owners to be left behind during evacuation was heartbreaking.Yasi truly brought to light that pets are a part...

Our Training Camp Graduates

I would also like to personally praise Heather and Jay Brittingham. I have worked with Heather and Jay through Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue for years, and have always known them to be fantastic dog handlers; however, I was blown away by their work with Shiner. I cannot express the tremendous support they offered to us in helping to address our challenges with Shiner. We are grateful to have been able to work with them, and thank them for everything they have done (and continue to do) to ensure we build a strong bond with our boy.

Thanks K9 Solutions of WNC! You took wonderful care of my GSD Harley while I was on vacation for two weeks. He was well loved!

We brought in a golden mix whose family told us “Oh, don’t worry about the growly/barky/lunging behavior. With a simple NO NO he will stop. He is just being protective”. With our one bite policy, we were concerned we were not getting the whole story and it would be impossible to place the dog. After 15 days with Jay, he could tell us so much about the dog and we were confident we could place him in a foster, then a forever, home. We learned that he did stop with a simple Eh Eh and that hewas being protective. Jay told us that he will need socialization with people and places and a confident leader so that he doesn’t have to worry about being in charge. He discovered the dog was quite obedient and willing to listen. I had him in my home for a few days and found him to be a delightful little dog. He will probably never be perfect, but at least we know what kind of family to look for. His new home will have more structure and leadership and continued socialization. Jay’s in-home training setup gave him 24/7 interaction with the dogs and his knowledge of dog behavior is phenomenal. We look forward to having him help us with our next problem dog.
